I had a good life. But what I needed then was a friend, and you abandoned me. And I will never forgive you for that.

Scene Analysis:

This scene is one of the most emotional and powerful moments in Bojack Horseman. Herb and BoJack were best friends a long time ago. Herb was a famous producer who gave BoJack a chance by putting him on his show. They became close friends. As BoJack’s career grew and he became more popular, he started to forget where he came from. He also forgot who helped him become an artist. With his reputation growing every day, BoJack was busy and didn’t have time to call his old friend. Greed and the desire for money got in the way of their friendship from BoJack’s side. After 20 years BoJack decides to visit Herb and finds out that Herb has cancer. He says he’s sorry, but sometimes saying sorry isn’t enough. When people apologize, words are not enough they need to show they are sorry through their actions. Herb never wanted anything from BoJack except to be his friend. Herb really saw BoJack as a true friend. But BoJack never saw him the same way. To BoJack  Herb was just someone he knew. Some things can’t be fixed. Herb got cancer and passed away, losing the friend he cared about the most. BoJack only realized too late that nothing he could say or do would bring their friendship back.

Monologue text:
“Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much I make a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn’t believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going into work? A business big enough that it could be listed on the NASDAQ goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without me! No, you clearly don’t know who you’re talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!”

Analysis:
This monologue is one of the most iconic moments in Breaking Bad. The tone of the scene is serious and intimidating, showing Walter White’s transformation into Heisenberg. Skyler is worried about Walter’s safety, but his response shocks her. Instead of denying the danger, Walter claims that he is the danger, proving how much his personality has changed. This scene highlights Walter’s arrogance and desire for power. It also marks a turning point in the story, where Skyler realizes how dangerous her husband has become, which creates more tension in their relationship.

Analysis: Sean Maguire speaks calmly but with quiet intensity, challenging Will’s intellectual arrogance. Prior to this scene, Will had belittled Sean’s life experiences, prompting this heartfelt response. Sean’s words aren’t angry but deeply personal, filled with sorrow and wisdom. He forces Will to confront his emotional detachment, emphasizing that knowledge without experience is hollow. This marks a turning point: Will begins to question his guarded nature. After this, their relationship deepens, leading Will to eventually open up, trust Sean, and confront his past trauma. It’s a transformative moment.

“If I asked you about art, you’d probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. Michelangelo, you know a lot about him. But you can’t tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You’ve never stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling. If I asked about war, you’d probably throw Shakespeare at me, right? ‘Once more unto the breach, dear friends.’ But you’ve never held your best friend’s head in your lap and watched him gasp his last breath, looking to you for help.”

 character: Henry Hill

monologe text: As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. Being a gangster was better than being President of the United States. It meant respect, money, power — everything you could ever want. I was part of something bigger, a brotherhood where rules were made and broken in the same breath. You didn’t wait in line. You didn’t ask permission. You took what you wanted. But the thing about that life — you never see the end coming. One minute, you’re on top, untouchable. The next, you’re a rat, running for your life. That’s the price of being a Goodfella.

Analysis:
In this monologue, Henry Hill talks about how he always wanted to be a gangster. To him, being a gangster was better than being the President because it meant respect, money, and power. He describes the freedom and excitement of the gangster life, where there are no rules and you take what you want. However, he also reveals the dark side of this life — betrayal, danger, and fear. In the end, Henry realizes that being a gangster comes with a heavy price, as it leads to isolation and the constant threat of losing everything.

Monologues text

“I don’t need to be perfect. I just need to be the best. Everyone else is so busy worrying about what everyone else thinks, but I know what’s important. I don’t care about friends or enemies I care about winning. There’s no room for second place in my world. You think you know me, but you don’t. You see the designer bags, the dresses, the hair—it’s all a game, and I’m always one step ahead. It’s about control. Power. And making sure that everyone knows that I’m on top. No one beats Blair Waldorf. No one.”

Analysis:

My name for scene is “be the best”.In this monologue, Blair Waldorf reveals her desire to always be the best, not perfect. She doesn’t care what others think; her focus is on winning. The designer bags, dresses, and hair are just a part of her strategy to show power and control. Blair wants everyone to see her as being on top. She doesn’t care about friends or enemies—just about being number one. This shows that while she may appear confident and powerful, she’s also driven by a deep need for control and recognition. It’s all about staying ahead and proving she’s unbeatable.

Analysis:

The Great Dictator is a movie by Charlie Chaplin. It is funny but also serious. The story is about a Jewish barber and a dictator called Adenoid Hynkel. The barber is kind, but the dictator is cruel and wants power. Chaplin plays both characters. The movie talks about war and power but also about love and hope. The message is still important today. The final speech is serious and emotional. The barber, who looks like the dictator, talks to many people. Before this, the real dictator was arrested by mistake, so the barber takes his place. He does not act like the dictator but talks about peace and freedom. He says people should not hate each other. He wants a better world. This scene is very important because it gives hope. After this, people listen to him. His friend Hannah hears him on the radio and feels happy. The scene shows that words can change the world.

Movie name: The Great Dictator

Character name: The Jewish Barber (pretending to be Adenoid Hynkel)

Monologue text: I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone – if possible – Jew, Gentile – black man – white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness – not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Movie name: Frances Ha

Character name: Frances Halladay

Monologue Text: I want this one moment. It’s what I want in a relationship, which may explain why I am single now, ha-ha. It’s kind of hard to… It’s that thing when you’re with someone, and you love them and they know it, and they love you and you know it… but it’s a party… and you’re both talking to other people, and you’re laughing and shining… and you look across the room and catch each others eyes… but – but not because you’re possessive, or it’s precisely sexual… but because… that is your person in this life.

Analysis:

The tone of scene is emotional. Frances Halladay is a woman who live in newyork and she is 27. She wants to dancer but her career is not well for this. She is being abandoned by her homemate Sophie. She thought that sophie is her best friend. However, sophie doesn’t feel same about frances. Frances questions her identity, her pleasures, her dreams and her loneliness. She feels lost and she doesn’t feel sense of belonging for anywhere. Before this scene, Frances attends a party where everyone belongs somewhere and they are perfect adults but frances is not. After this scene, Frances’s life getting worse. She remains completely alone, can’t find a job etc. She have a major mental breakdown. Then, she suddenly achieves managing her own life. She starts dancing again. This scene is significant for the story since she talks about desire to belong and have a deep bound. It is a complaint. The monologue reflects us the depth and inner world of character. Furthermore, scene has black and white effect. It gives a depressive vibe. With the monologue, we see the perspective in relationships of character. We can understand why she stays away from serious relationships and bonding with others. She use gestures and mimics too much. She express her feelings intensely. She is a weird but relatable character if you feel lonely and odd. In my opinion, we can find a part of us in her inner world and expressions. Especially this scene can be meaningful for some people.

Nazif Çağan

Movie name: The Great Dictator

Character name: The Jewish Barber (pretending to be Adenoid Hynkel)

Monolouge text: Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost…

Analysis text: This part talk about how people become bad because of greed. People make fast things and smart things, but they forget to be kind. Machines give many things, but people are still not happy. The person speaking say we need more love, not only smart ideas. He also say things like radio and aeroplane can help people be together if they use it good.

The feeling of this part is serious and sad but also hopeful. The person want to make people think and feel good again.

Before this, the world have big problems like war. Now, the person talk to people and try to help them understand. After this, maybe people listen and change. This part is important because it tell the big message of the story.

After Katherine’s uprising I think boss felt shame and breaks down to colored bathroom sign at be end of the scene. It was great scene that can show us how brutal discrimination was.
