| PF8-03 | Novel Club | In this club, you will take your time to read, provoke thoughts, and exchange opinions with your friends while learning about the deep roots of Native American culture and its implications in today’s America. How? By reading the New York Times bestseller and National Book Award winner, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (2007), written by Native American author Sherman Alexie. You will explore themes of racism, poverty, and identity—and beyond everything, you’ll be proud of yourselves because by the end of this course, you will have read a 230-page novel in English! We will have many reading sessions as part of our club meetings, so if you are a bookworm or reading enthusiast, you should join this club. |
