| Classic Rock Club | Do you like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Nirvana? Others? Come and join the Classic Rock Club! In this club, we’ll listen and discuss these past masters, but we’ll also actually play some of their songs. If you have a guitar, a bass, drum kit, whatever, even a saz (why not add a bit of Turkish flavor?) then bring it! Show us what you can do. Let’s make some classic rock together. If you don’t have an instrument, maybe you can sing! Or download GarageBand or other music apps and create music with your smartphone. Aims and Assessment The aim of this club is to encourage and develop students’ musical talent, appreciation as well as improving their English through the universal language of music. Music is a fun, essential way to improve pronunciation, fluency, confidence and lexus by learning lyrics. Rock has all sorts of everyday expressions, idioms and slang that we still use today, language that has become part of the culture. Students will be assessed according to: Participation 25 percent *Performance 25 Completion of tasks (5 in class written and speaking tasks) 50 *While not all students are expected to play a musical instrument, they are expected to participate in performances. |
| Vocabulary Club | Do you think you need extra work on vocabulary? Come and join us! ️ Imagine creating your own vıcabulary games and having fun with your friends at the same time! This is your chance to: Revise and learn your level vocabulary at your own pace by creating vocabulary games and adding more items to that every week. Have fun by practicing together and develop your ability to remember them more easily! Aims and Objectives of Vocabulary Club: -Help students revise and/or consolidate vocabulary items on their level. -Enabling them to work in groups, improving creativity by giving them gaming tasks -Encourage active participation and discussions around the contents of the target vocabulary. -Apply vocabulary knowledge in a practical, game-design context. |
