U-03English in ActionThis EPW will provide students with a variety of engaging input through selected BBC Learning Upper- Intermediate course materials (e.g. podcasts, videos, and articles). After completing initial input tasks, students will produce language collaboratively and individually, focusing on developing accuracy and fluency with level grammar and vocabulary, especially in extended spoken communication.  
U-04Murder Mystery Club
Welcome to the Murder Mystery Club, a club for lovers of popular and engaging crime fiction! In this club, you’ll have a chance to act, interact and reflect in English, and create your own murder mystery story and shoot a short film of it! It is a creative, project-based elective course for B1+ learners integrating reading, listening, writing, speaking and language work throughout the course. You engage with reading and listening input, practice language related to the topic, and produce written or spoken projects. Tasks include videos, roleplays, written stories and more, individually or in pairs or in groups. At the end, you will write your scripts for the role plays, act them out and film them.

U-09Short Story Creative Writing Club      In the short story creative writing club, you will practice using a variety of writing and editing techniques to write your own short story narratives. You will read and give feedback on the work of others through small writing groups comprising 4 or 5 members. The goal is to be creative and learn techniques and methods that will improve your narrative writing skills. We will look at how to brainstorm ideas (spoiler warning: it’s easy); how to outline a short story; and other aspects, such as characters, setting, point of view, descriptions, and narrative structure. After writing and editing, we will collect all the club’s short stories and bring them together into a print and digital format (our own literary magazine). So, if you love to write or want to express your creativity, this club will give you the tools and guidance to write your own story.

These challenges will involve local culture, language, and cuisine, and promote cultural awareness and understanding. Additionally, you will complete tasks related to intercultural awareness around East Campus. Not only will you become familiar with life on East Campus, but also with different places around the world!
U-14Verses and VibesDo you like listening to music? Do you want to understand the meaning of your favorite songs? Then this club is for you! In this club, we will read song lyrics and talk about their meaning. We will learn about simple poetic language, themes, and messages. We will also watch music videos and see how they help tell the story of a song. You will listen to songs from different genres and cultures. You will share your ideas with your classmates and improve your speaking and presentation skills. You will also write your own song and use AI to create music and sing it. At the end of the course, you will choose a song you like and give a presentation about its lyrics, message, and music video, and make and submit a poster of the song you will choose.

Each week, you will learn and practice words in your vocabulary list with your team members through exciting games, puzzles or quizzes. But that’s not all – you will also get the chance to put your new vocabulary into use in fun, creative, real-life writing and speaking tasks to make your learning really stick.
And here’s the best part: on showcase days, our club will organize a Kahoot vocabulary competition open to all upper-intermediate level students and find the real UPPER Vocab Champs!
U-22Public SpeakingIn this course you will learn how to speak in front of an audience (of your peers). If you want to learn how to draft (write) a speech in order to effectively convince people, sell them your ideas or even just teach, this project is for you. To successfully pass every student will have to do a final presentation.

In Lens & Language: Exploring Photography through English, you’ll explore both the art of photography and your unique perspective on the world. This elective project work (EPW) is for anyone interested in using photography to express themselves and engage in personal reflection, regardless of prior experience. Throughout the course, you’ll research famous photographers and various techniques and practice taking photos that represent your vision. By the end of the course, you’ll select your favorite shots for an Instagram showcase, where you can show the photos and reflections you’re most proud of. Join us in Lens & Language if you want to make art, capture moments, and reflect deeply on what you see!

Are you ready to step up your English? 😊
This is your space to explore English and use it with confidence. Each week, you will learn new idioms, proverbs, or quotations, practise, and use them in real-life situations.
You will use technology to record your work and create original content such as videos, podcasts, posters, or Instagram pages. Sometimes you will work on your own, sometimes with a partner, and for the final project, you will work in small groups to write, act, and record a roleplay.
 By the end of the course, you will be able to express yourself more clearly and confidently.

U-27Speak and Spark This is a fun and practical course designed to improve your discussion skills and vocabulary through real-world topics. If you want to communicate clearly, confidently, and critically in discussion-based contexts, choose this EPW. Through interactive speaking tasks, you can develop the ability to ask and answer relevant questions, express and justify opinions, and manage conversations using effective signposting and paraphrasing strategies. You can also learn how to evaluate your speaking strengths and weaknesses through teacher’s and peers’ feedback. By the end of the course, you will be better prepared to participate in academic discussions, respond thoughtfully to different perspectives, and express yourselves confidently. You will be doing all these in mini groups, in pairs and sometimes individually.      
U-28STORY BRIDGE
Welcome to Story Bridge! During this course, you will create your own English children’s audiobook using StoryJumper. You will plan your story, create interesting characters, design colorful pages, record your own narration and finally publish your digital storybook. Throughout the semester, you will improve your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills while working on a meaningful project for a real audience.
